Interests, Passions and Hobbies

Time available for pleasure reading is scarce in seminary. However, reading has been a favorite past time of mine since I was a little girl. To check out what new books have made it on my shelf this year, check out my Goodreads "Read list"!

If you ever try to watch a movie with me, I will likely bring some cross stitch or knitting, because sitting still is not my spiritual gift. If you check out my youtube history, you will host of calligraphy and hand lettering tutorials. I love crafts. I love working with my hands, and I love being creative. There are few things more liberating to me, than creativity, and few areas of life where creativity would not be a benefit.

As a little girl, we made chocolate chip cookies on rainy days. I think that must have been where my love for being in the kitchen originated. For today, there are few things that bring me more joy than gathering family and friends around the table, and sharing the gift of food. As a college student, I started a vegetarian food blog, as a testimony to the spiritual decision I made to be a vegetarian.  This decision was rooted in environmental concerns, and has shaped my life significant. You can check out my food blog and the reasoning behind it, here

Music is an incredibly important part of my life, and has always been a deep joy of mine. Both my grandmothers were church musicians, so the rule growing up in my home, was eight years of piano lessons. I will forever be grateful to the church, which was where I first learned to harmonize, first got a taste of choir, and so often was so often supported, through the invitation to sing in worship.
